Electronics Technician III Reports To Shop Foreman Summary of Position This position is responsible to lead the installation, repair, troubleshooting, alignment, calibration, and maintenance of our electrical and electronic control systems. This role requires advanced technical skills, a deep understanding of PLC programming, and the ability to perform complex system analyses. Requirements Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in the Oil & Gas Industry Technical Documentation: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret safety guidelines, operational and maintenance instructions, technical procedures, and government regulations Electrical Schematics: Skilled in reading and understanding electrical schematics, including schematic symbols and their meanings Mathematics: Proficient in basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals Problem Solving: Capable of solving practical problems and handling a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization Instrumentation Knowledge: Advanced knowledge in the maintenance and repair of instrumentation Diagnostic Software: Proficient in using industrial engine/transmission diagnostic software Greaser Systems: Advanced understanding of greaser systems, including electronic capabilities, troubleshooting, and repair Computer Skills: Proficient with computers and relevant software Preventative Maintenance: Proficient in performing all monthly preventative maintenance services independently Leadership: Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage and mentor team members Toolset: Possess an advanced hand tool set Duties & Responsibilities Advanced Electrical Theory: Apply advanced knowledge of electrical theory to diagnose and resolve complex issues PLC & Electrical Repair: Conduct advanced PLC and electrical repair and troubleshooting with minimal supervision Preventative Maintenance: Independently execute electrical preventative maintenance tasks System Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and repair electro-hydraulic systems with proficiency PLC Training: Utilize advanced training in Siemens, Rockwell, and Opto22 PLC systems PLC/HMI Programming: Demonstrate advanced knowledge in PLC and HMI programming Instrumentation: Install, repair, and calibrate 4-20mA instruments for PLC control Hydraulic Systems: Maintain and repair electro-hydraulic pump systems with an in-depth understanding Failure Analysis: Perform root cause failure analysis and implement effective solutions Equipment Operations: Operate and understand the theory behind key equipment, such as blenders and hydration units Leadership: Take on a leadership role within the team, guiding and mentoring less experienced technicians Fabrication: Fabricate parts and components needed with proficiency
