Logistics Documentation & Shipping SpecialistLocation:Anniston, ALEmployment Type:Contract |Hours:40 hrs/week, Mon–FriPay Range:$24/hrAbout the RoleYou will support logistics operations by managing critical documentation, tracking material flow, and ensuring accurate verification of incoming and outgoing shipments. This role plays a key part in maintaining the integrity of logistics data and ensuring materials, parts, and equipment are properly received, recorded, and distributed.You will work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment where accuracy, communication, and attention to detail are essential to supporting operational readiness and lifecycle management of equipment and materials.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and maintain logistics documentation for spares, tools, equipment, and technical manualsSupport deployment planning by determining maintenance and repair material requirementsReview configuration changes and assess impact on logistics support and deploymentTrack, manage, and document equipment, components, and repair parts across storage locationsCoordinate verification, inspection, and receipt of incoming materials for accuracy and conditionInspect shipments for quantity accuracy and physical damage; document discrepancies as neededCompare incoming materials against purchase orders and supporting documentationInput, track, and verify logistics data using internal systems and customer portalsRoute and distribute packages within the facility, including handling heavy or bulky materials when requiredFollow proper procedures for handling classified, sensitive, or hazardous materialsMaintain shipping records and perform manual and computer-based shipping dutiesEnsure compliance with transportation, packaging, and customer shipping requirementsPerform additional duties as assigned to support logistics operationsRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent1–3 years of direct experience in logistics or a related fieldU.S. Citizenship required (government contract requirement)Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Adobe PDFStrong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyAbility to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentStrong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate documentation and recordsPreferred Qualifications2–4 years of experience in inventory management or related fieldsExperience in logistics, warehouse operations, or shipping/receiving environmentsFamiliarity with logistics tracking systems or ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, FEDLOG, Haystack)Experience handling classified, controlled, or hazardous materialsKnowledge of transportation routing, scheduling, and packaging standardsExperience supporting defense, aerospace, or regulated environmentsMilitary experience (e.g., Prescribed Load List Clerk, Maintenance Clerk, BII or equipment fielding knowledge)Additional DetailsFast-paced operational environment with strict accuracy requirementsSupports critical logistics and lifecycle management functionsRequires adaptability and ability to work independently and within a teamOpportunity to gain exposure to defense-related logistics systems and processesEmphasis on compliance, documentation accuracy, and material accountabilityWhy Join CPI?Exciting, research-driven projects with real-world impactOpportunities for ongoing learning and career developmentCompetitive perks and incentives tailored to each contract positionAbout UsContract Professionals, Inc.
