Job Description: Detailer/Paint/Fiberglass IIReports to: Fiberglass ManagerThe Detailer/Paint/Fiberglass Technician’s responsibility is to perform the duties below on a regular basis and meet customer satisfaction standards as well as company sales and safety requirements.The position requires the team member to work 5 days per week and 8 hours per day according to the schedule agreed upon with your manager. Marina operating hours range from 5:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. and seasonal schedule changes may take place at management discretion.Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssess condition of gel coat and recommend proper maintenance protocolPolish and wax gel coats and various painted surfacesChoose, mix, and apply epoxy to wood or FRPPerform gel coat/paint cosmetic repairsPossess knowledge of various fiberglass cloths and their applications and apply to workPossess knowledge of proper operation of hand and hand-held air/electric tools and apply to workPossess knowledge of bottom repairs and painting procedures and apply to workGrind and layup simple laminationsUnderstand the proper uses of marine grade fairing materials and woodsMaintain finishes to industry standardsFollow all procedures pertaining to safety and personal protection equipmentEnsure quality of work performedMinimum Qualifications And RequirementsAct with the highest level of integrity and maintain a positive attitudeHigh school diploma or GED requiredValid drivers license required2 years of experience in fiberglass repair and paint finish application (preferably marine, but not required)Must provide own hand toolsAbility to speak and read English in order to follow instructions on work orders as well as understand product and manual instructionsMust be able to meet the physical requirements of the job (see below)Must be able to complete assigned work in an efficient and timely mannerStrong work ethic and personal commitmentAbility to work in a team environment to achieve team, department, and company goalsAbility to be a self-starter and work independentlyMust have strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift and carry up to 100 lbsAbility to work comfortably around waterAbility to work in tight spacesAbility to work at heights of up to 30 feetStand, sit, walk, push, pull, climb, crawl, bend, kneel, squat, twist, reach, graspCompany SummaryTopSide Marinas was cofounded in 2020 as a family-owned company that acquires, owns, and operates high-quality marinas across the country.
