Xenophon is a certified member of PATH International and the winner of numerous international awards for our programs, staff, and herd.Job descriptionReporting to the Executive Director (ED), the Director of Operations and Programs (DPO) provides ongoing oversight of the Center, manages daily operations of the facility including staff, instructors, students and volunteers, oversees the welfare of the equine herd, and ensures the quality and safety of participant services.ResponsibilitiesProgram Oversight and Development: Under the direction of the Executive Director, this role is responsible for the ongoing development of Xenophon’s instructional programs,partnering with the Executive Director to execute on key fundraising events, including input to the Board of Directors for the 5-year business plan.Develops strategies for ensuring Xenophon’s programs are on the cutting edge of industry standardsPartners with ED to develop fundraising strategies to support program developmentWorks with the Lead instructor to ensure continuity and quality of program implementation and instructor trainingInitiates written and phone correspondence to prospective studentsCoordinates with the Communications and Admin role in maintaining all student records including health and release files as well as ongoing assessment recordsSchedules regular and substitute studentsTeaches lessons when regularly scheduled instructors cannot make itCreates, organizes, and maintains games and manipulative inventoryWorks with Lead Instructor to schedule and run instructor training days and instructor meetingsSupervises development of instructional program by interfacing with Lead Instructor, instructors OT and PT, evaluating target goals and student placementsCenter Operations: This position is responsible for the management of specific center staff, including Barn and Facilities Manager, Volunteer Manager, Lead Instructor, instructors, and therapists. In this capacity, the positionCoordinates with Barn and Facilities Manager to oversee physical site and safety at XenophonPromotes a collaborative, positive culture that attracts and retains staff and volunteersFosters sense of belonging for students and familiesOversees all digital systems/softwares and ensures appropriate staff and volunteers have necessary accessCoordinates with Communications and Admin person to evaluate and update new systems/softwares as neededDevelops and shares annual surveys of the staff, instructors, volunteers, and familiesSupports the Executive Director in maintaining appropriate policies and procedures, internal controls, etcWorks with the ED to hire new staff and instructorsCenter Events and Community Engagement: Xenophon’s reputation and community presence is central to the organizational mission and involves on-site and off-site events to engage the broader community, donors, volunteers, families and students.
