Youth Driven Spaces (YDS) Manager of SE Michigan

OverviewThe Neutral Zone – a transformative, youth-driven community where youth embrace their power, ignite their creativity, and launch their future to build equity, justice, and collective liberation – is looking for a dynamic candidate to serve as a Youth Driven Spaces (YDS) Manager of SE Michigan. Internally we provide ‘youth driven’ programs for high school-aged teens in creative arts, music and leadership, based in critical youth development practices, with an emphasis on equity and restorative practices (RP) as our approach to community and relationship building. Externally, our Youth Driven Spaces (YDS) work focuses on building the capacity of other organizations to be “youth driven” through training, coaching and consulting, working with both youth and adults. The YDS Manager would play a pivotal role in driving our mission-based work by helping oversee and lead YDS initiatives with community partners and schools, with a focus on SE Michigan. Main ResponsibilitiesLead planning, coordination, and delivery of Youth Driven Spaces (YDS) training and coaching initiatives across Southeast Michigan.Provide direct coaching and customized training to partner agencies, while supporting regional coaching strategy, partner selection, and consultant coordination.Co-facilitate YDS and Restorative Practices trainings, including introductory workshops and advanced learning opportunities.Manage key initiatives such as the annual YDS Conference, statewide Community of Practice, and development of new trainers and coaches.Support evaluation, reporting, partner communications, and continuous improvement aligned with strategic plan goals.Build and maintain partnerships by presenting at conferences, meetings, and community events to expand YDS impact.Contribute to organizational culture and programming through staff collaboration, youth engagement, and participation in professional development and strategic planning.Oversee administrative functions including staff meetings, documentation of standard operating procedures, and management of training resources and materials.QualificationsQualified candidates should have at least 5 years experience with youth program design, management and implementation, as well as experience training & coaching adults and teens.This position allows for remote work, for approximately 50% time. The other 50% takes place at the Neutral Zone in Ann Arbor or on-site at various training events (most of which occur in SE Michigan).The salary range is $55,000-70,000 + benefits, based on experience. Interested candidates should submit a cover letter and resume to: John Weiss, Director of Strategic Initiatives at weiss@neutral-zone.org, by COB on May 22, 2026. Applications received after this date may be considered only if the position is unfilled.
