These components present compelling engineering challenges across complexity, power, performance, and advanced process node technologies — making this an exciting environment for experienced engineers.We are seeking an experienced SW/FW Developer based in the USA to develop code for validating and debugging ASIC hardware silicon prior to release. In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineering teams in Austin and Sweden across IP, ASIC, and system levels, ensuring final ASIC products meet program goals with the highest quality standards.What You Will DoDesign, implement, and validate ASIC device drivers and test cases in C/C++ within the Zephyr RTOS framework, or equivalent Linux kernel/driver development experienceDevelop framework and infrastructure components in Python to support the run environment and automationAssess and visualize ASIC test case coverage to identify quality improvement opportunitiesConduct in-lab testing and proof-of-concept work to validate code and coverage improvementsParticipate in collaborative technical discussions and contribute to scalable, reusable frameworks and test casesIdentify technical innovations to enhance Ericsson's validation and methodology capabilitiesPartner with ASIC architects to define coverage plans and resolve technical issuesThe Skills You BringMinimum 5 years of development experience with C/C++ and Python, focused on hardware validation and embedded softwareDemonstrated commitment to good coding practices and the ability to promote these standards across teamsExperience with source code management tools (e.g., Git) and IDEsAbility to understand and articulate hardware architecture, data paths, and IP functionsStrong ability to read and write technical specifications and quickly grasp new technical conceptsHands-on experience with Unix/Linux operating systems and bash scriptingSolid knowledge of validation principles and test coverage strategiesEnthusiasm for in-lab system work, including platform management and test instrument setupDemonstrated success working across geographies and cross-functional teamsStrong written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences, including managers and architectsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with close attention to detailAbility to work independently through ambiguous tasks with a collaborative mindsetNice to Have:Familiarity with leveraging AI for validation coverage analysis and code development efficiencyExposure to network communications, hardware emulators, and validation platformsExperience with lab equipment such as protocol/logic analyzers and oscilloscopesWhy join Ericsson?At Ericsson, you´ll have an outstanding opportunity. New employees are provided a minimum of 15 days of accrued vacation, up to 3 personal days per year, 11 annual holidays, 8 hours of volunteer time, and 80 hours of sick time annually. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee’s start date.
