Meetings are usually 90-120 minutes longA member’s term of service lasts for 1 academic year, and members can serve 2 termsWe are thrilled to offer members $25 per hour as compensation for their time. The WorkAs a member of this incoming class of youth leaders, YAC members will:Set Council Goals and Measure Success - Develop clear goals and success criteria for youth advisory council’s role as an advisory body.Review Existing Programs- Review current state programs and make recommendations for improvements that advance youth accountability from education leaders.Assist with Surveys - Assist in reviewing and improving surveys to ensure accurate representation of youth perspectives.Connect with other Youth Leaders - Engage with youth leaders, particularly from diverse communities, and explore leadership networks to identify best practices.Improve Reporting Processes for Bias Incidents - Evaluate and recommend improvements for how youth report bias incidents or hate crimes, ensuring better support for affected youth.Engage in member led subcommittee work such as AI safety in schools, extracurricular and club engagement, anti-discrimination practices, and elevating rural youth experiencesReady to apply?Click this link to learn more!Apply now!
