Neonatal Pediatric Hospitalist

Physician - HospitalistAs a Physician - Hospitalist, you will be an integral part of our hospital's medical team, responsible for the comprehensive care and management of patients during their hospital stay. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and recovery of our patients. Position Highlights:Position: Neonatal Pediatric Hospitalist - Neonatology Location: Elmhurst Hospital, Elmhurst, IL Full Time/Part Time: Full-Time (average of 40 hours/wk.) Part-time and Per Diem available; salary prorated! Salary: $162,000-$193,000. Pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors. Hours: unit staffed 24/7, hours flexible Required Travel: n/a What You Will Need:Under the supervision of a physician: License:MD Licensure in the State of IL required; Federal DEA and Illinois Controlled Substance License required Education:Completion of accredited pediatric residency or Master's level program in specialty area Certification:BLS for Healthcare Provider and NRP certifications required. Certification in specialty:American Board of Pediatrics eligible Experience:5+ years of IP Newborn (highly preferred); or other relevant acute care pediatric experience preferred Special Knowledge and Skills Required:Newborn airway management including intubation Central line placement (umbilical and PCVC) Newborn chest tube placement Equipment Utilized within the Scope of the Position:Stethoscope Monitors Small baby equipment Flow inflating bag Ventilators (HFJV, HFOV, cMV, NIMV, iNO, etc) Sterile procedures Therapeutic hypothermia What You Will Do:Providing appropriate medical care to newborn patients L&D, newborn nursery, and intensive care unit during his/her scheduled shift. Ensuring that an adequate medical record is maintained for each patient seen and treated during his/her shift Provides appropriate procedural tasks as needed (PPV, intubation, central lines, chest tubes, etc). Participating in self and peer evaluation to improve quality of care. Collaborating in the development, review and evaluation of policies and procedures. Participating in developing and implementing QI monitoring.
