Electrical Engineer/Designer
Position OverviewWe are seeking a talented and experienced Mid-Level Electrical Engineer/Designer to join our building consulting engineering team. The ideal candidate will have 6–11 years of experience in electrical engineering and design for building projects, with strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of commercial, institutional, and other building projects while collaborating with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop electrical systems for building projects, including power distribution, lighting, emergency power, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.Prepare detailed electrical drawings, plans, schematics, specifications, and construction documents.Develop and maintain electrical designs using AutoCAD and Revit.Perform electrical load calculations, voltage-drop calculations, equipment sizing, and circuiting.Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, structural, mechanical, and other building systems.Review project requirements, codes, standards, and client specifications to ensure compliant designs.Assist with project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and coordination throughout the design and construction phases.Conduct field investigations and site visits to evaluate existing electrical systems and conditions.Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and other construction documents.Provide technical support during construction and assist with resolving design and field issues.Participate in project meetings with clients, architects, contractors, and internal engineering teams.Mentor junior engineers and designers and provide technical guidance as needed.Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure designs meet quality and performance standards.Qualifications6–11 years of experience in consulting engineering with a focus on building electrical systems.Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred.Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is required.Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, building systems, and applicable codes and standards.E.I. or P.E. certification is preferred.LEED AP certification is preferred.Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines.Experience working effectively in a multidisciplinary consulting engineering environment.BenefitsOur comprehensive benefits package includes:Paid time offMedical insuranceLife insuranceLong-term disability (LTD) insurance401(k) retirement planFlexible work hoursProfessional development opportunitiesCollaborative and supportive work environmentAdditional benefits and perks
