Urgent Care Physician

Organization Overview This opportunity is with a privately owned, well-established urgent care group serving the greater New Haven area. The organization operates six standalone urgent care centers, each located within approximately 35 minutes of one another. Clinics provide full-service urgent care, workers' compensation evaluations, and select primary care services. Providers are supported by experienced medical assistants, on-site X-ray, labs, procedure rooms, and an efficient workflow using the Experity EMR platform. Each facility is designed to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, walk-in clinical environment. Position Summary The group is seeking multiple Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine Physicians to join its urgent care network across six nearby locations. In this role, you will evaluate and treat patients of all ages, perform standard urgent care procedures, and support occupational medicine services. You may work independently at times or alongside another physician or advanced practice provider, depending on the shift and site volume. Essential Position Responsibilities Provide urgent care evaluation and management for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients Perform standard urgent care procedures, including: Suturing Splinting Incision & drainage Basic orthopedics Conduct workers' compensation physicals and occupational medicine services Rotate between six clinic locations within a 35-minute radius Work solo or alongside another provider , depending on site and schedule Document accurately using Experity EMR Deliver efficient, patient-centered care in a high-volume walk-in environment Maintain compliant clinical documentation and follow organizational protocols Schedule Details Clinics open 7 days/week 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM Physician schedule: 7 shifts per 14-day period Must be able to work four weekend shifts per month Patient volume: 25-50 patients per 12-hour shift DOT certification required (or willingness to obtain post-hire) Qualifications Education Graduate of an accredited MD or DO program Completed residency in Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine Licensure & Certification Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Physician Active Connecticut medical license (or eligibility to obtain) DEA license DOT certification (or willingness to obtain) Experience Urgent care or emergency medicine experience preferred Strong procedural competency required Skills Proficiency in suturing, splinting, I&D Ability to manage all age groups Excellent clinical judgment in a fast-paced setting Ability to work independently and collaboratively Strong communication and patient education skills Compensation and Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) HSA Profit sharing 1 week PTO 1 week sick leave 1 week CME Annual CME allowance Malpractice coverage provided Lifestyle Information - New Haven, Connecticut City of 130,000+ residents Coastal community located along the Long Island Sound Home to Yale University Vibrant cultural district, museums, restaurants, and historic landmarks Ability to take the ferry to Long Island for day trips and weekend travel Thank you for your time, and I look forward to connecting soon!
