Construction Accounting Manager

Job Description Construction Accounting Manager– Commercial Construction (Charlotte, NC) $95,000 - $105,000 annually (DOE) TEC Electric is hiring aConstruction Accounting Managerto lead financial operations across commercial and industrial construction projects.This role goes beyond basic accounting — you will own job costing, financial reporting, budgeting, and project financial performance, working directly with leadership and project teams to keep operations financially sound and scalable. What You’ll Be Doing Oversee full-cycle accounting (AP, AR, payroll coordination, general ledger) Manage job costing and project-based accounting across multiple projects Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements Track and forecast cash flow to support company and project needs Partner with Project Managers to monitor budgets, costs, and financial performance Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with tax and audit requirements Deliver financial reporting, insights, and recommendations to leadership Improve and streamline accounting systems, workflows, and reporting processes What We’re Looking For Must-Have 10+ years of accounting experience (construction or project-based accounting required) 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role Strong experience with job costing and project financial management Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements Experience managing full accounting cycle Proficiency with QuickBooks or similar accounting software Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Nice to Have CPA or CPA-track Experience with multi-state construction operations Background working closely with project managers and field teams Experience improving accounting systems and processes Strong experience with forecasting and financial strategy Why TEC Electric Steady pipeline of commercial and industrial construction projects High-impact role with direct visibility to leadership Opportunity to grow into Controller / Finance Leadership roles Collaborative, team-oriented environment Full benefits package About TEC Electric TEC Electric is a Charlotte-based licensed contractor operating since 2006, specializing in commercial and industrial construction across the Southeast (NC, SC, VA, TN, AL, GA).
