Medicaid/MMIS Technical Manager

JOB TITLE: Medicaid/MMIS Technical Manager (Java Full Stack) JOB LOCATION: Remote WAGE RANGE*: $55hr to $60hr JOB NUMBER: 26-00468 REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: 8–12 years of IT experience with technical leadership background Strong Medicaid/MMIS domain experience (MMIS preferred) Hands-on Java full stack development experience Experience with REST APIs, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and databases JOB DESCRIPTION We are seeking a Medicaid/MMIS Technical Manager with strong Java full stack expertise to lead development and delivery of scalable healthcare solutions. Lead design and development of Medicaid applications (claims, eligibility, enrollment) Provide technical leadership and mentor development teams Lead architecture, design and development using Java full stack technologies (Spring Boot, Microservices, Angular/React, REST APIs) Drive hands-on development when needed, especially in critical components and solution design Ensure compliance with healthcare standards (HIPAA, CMS) Collaborate with business and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions Participate in code reviews, performance tuning, and troubleshooting complex issues Lead Agile/Scrum processes including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives and implement best practices Ensure application scalability, security, and high availability Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and adoption of modern/AI technologies Requirements 8–12 years of IT experience with technical leadership background Strong Medicaid/MMIS domain experience (MMIS preferred) Hands-on Java full stack development experience Experience with REST APIs, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and databases Excellent communication and leadership skills Equal opportunity employer as to all protected groups, including protected veterans and individuals with disabilities * While an hourly range is posted for this position, an eventual hourly rate is determined by a comprehensive salary analysis which considers multiple factors including but not limited to: job-related knowledge, skills and qualifications, education and experience as compared to others in the organization doing substantially similar work, if applicable, and market and business considerations.
