Maintenance Electrical Technician
Location: Rockport, INCleveland-Cliffs, Rockport Works, has an immediate opportunity for a Maintenance Electrical Technician. The Maintenance Electrical Technician is responsible for providing safe and timely electrical support, preventative maintenance, installation, service, and repair of electrical equipment, systems, and other components of industrial machinery throughout the plant.Summary Of ResponsibilitiesPerform routine electrical inspections and planned maintenance to keep equipment operational.Assess the equipment operating condition and carry out appropriate repairs.Utilize knowledge and training to detect electrical equipment malfunctionInform and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose electrical problem or repair machineUtilize a CMMS system to prepare requests for maintenance services (RMS) providing detailed information to expedite repairsUtilize electrical drawings or standards to inspect parts to ensure they conform to purchase ordersDismantle defective machines and electrical equipment and installs new or repaired partsAttend outage, safety and staff meetingsOperate mobile equipment.Work closely with Maintenance Mechanical Techs, Engineers, and Maintenance PlannerOther duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsThree to five years related experience and/or trainingEquivalent combination of education (Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college) and experienceDemonstrated commitment to safety and qualityAbility to read, understand, and follow operating instructions and procedure manualsEffective communication skills – verbal and writtenApplicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis Preferred QualificationsAssociate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical schoolAn electrical journeyman’s card and/or a minimum of an associate degree in an electrical industrial related fieldCleveland-Cliffs Inc. is the largest flat-rolled steel company and the largest iron ore pellet producer in North America.
