Student Employment - Student Safety Team

Applicant must be a current Carroll College student enrolled in at least 6 credits to be eligible to apply.Department: Campus Security and Public SafetyDuties and Responsibilities: This position is responsible for providing a high level of customer service, while maintaining a safe and secure environment that enhances and supports the mission of Carroll College. This position will perform general safety duties to protect life and property, and will act as a deterrent to unsafe or poor behavior by patrolling the campus, monitoring campus buildings, facilities, parking lots, walkways, and grounds of the College, monitoring visitors, reporting unsafe or unhealthy conditions and assisting administrators and/or public officials with campus situations. This position will not respond to or be involved in emergency situations and will notify a Saints Safety and Security (S3) Officer, Assistant Director, or Director of Campus Security and Public Safety immediately if they encounter an emergency.Position may be required to direct and control traffic for large events on campus. Positions may require varying work hours and days including evenings and weekends. The position will be trained as a crowd manager and help with large events on campus to include parking management, evacuations, and incident response.Student Safety Team members will have a deep understanding of campus buildings and be able to direct individuals to the correct location. They will also offer escorts on demand whether on foot or in a campus vehicle or golf cart. Intake lost and found items and be able to log these items into a spreadsheet as well as secure these items in Saints Safety and Security Office in the Upper Cube. This position will also offer to jump start vehicles on campus after receiving training on how to safely operate the equipment provided.Qualifications:Must have a valid driver's licenseBe able to pass a background checkAbility to obtain CPR and AED certification within the first three months of employment* Obtain crowd management certification within the first month of employment* Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or aboveEmployment Specifications: Work-study preferred, but not required.Approximate Hours/Week: 10 hrs/weekSpecial Time/Schedule Requirements: FlexibleLength of Employment: Academic YearWage Rate: $12.50/hrTo Apply Please Contact: Jay Nelson - jnelson6@carroll.edu
