Facilities Maintenance Technician

Position Summary As a full-time Maintenance Technician, you'll play an essential role in keeping our community safe, clean, and comfortable. From preparing apartments for new move-ins to troubleshooting maintenance issues and supporting day-to-day operations, you'll help ensure our residents have a positive living experience from day one. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working independently, takes ownership of their work, and is committed to providing excellent service. What You'll DoProperty & Apartment Maintenance Complete maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner Perform repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, drywall, painting, and general carpentry Prepare apartments and bedrooms for new resident move-ins Perform preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment Assist with maintaining building interiors, exteriors, and common areas Monitor property conditions and identify potential maintenance concerns before they become larger issues Resident Support Deliver outstanding customer service to residents and guests Respond to maintenance requests with professionalism and urgency Assist residents during move-ins and move-outs as needed Coordinate lockout assistance and emergency maintenance response when required Help maintain a welcoming and comfortable living environment Community & Grounds Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of common areas, entrances, walkways, and grounds Remove debris and assist with general property upkeep Move furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed Support property inspections and identify opportunities to improve curb appeal Safety & Compliance Follow all company safety policies and procedures Maintain awareness of safety hazards and report concerns promptly Ensure compliance with applicable building, safety, and environmental standards Maintain accurate maintenance records and preventive maintenance schedules Report property rule violations or safety concerns to management What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications High School Diploma or GED 3-5 years of maintenance, facilities, building operations, or related experience Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, painting, and general building maintenance Ability to safely operate maintenance tools and equipment Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to understand and follow safety procedures and chemical handling guidelines Professional appearance and attitude Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Qualifications HVAC Certification Appliance repair experience Experience working in student housing, multifamily, hospitality, or co-living environments Experience with boiler systems and water treatment systems Previous live-in maintenance experience Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs Why You'll Love Working Here Live where you work in a vibrant Berkeley community Be part of a growing company focused on student and intern housing Work with residents from around the world Enjoy a fast-paced environment where every day is different Make a visible impact on the resident experience and community culture FOUND Study is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to creating an inclusive workplace for all team members and residents.
