EDGE RAIL & SCREEN Operations Manager Position Title Operations Manager Reports To Owner / General Manager Department Operations / Production Employment Type Full-Time Position Summary The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the welding/fabrication and powder coating departments at Edge Rail & Screen. This position ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and according to company quality standards. Primary Responsibilities Oversee all daily production and operational activities Coordinate workflow between fabrication and powder coating departments Schedule jobs according to deadlines and installation timelines Monitor production progress and resolve delays or bottlenecks Supervise welders, fabricators, and coating technicians Maintain accountability for productivity and quality• Enforce all company safety policies and procedures Ensure completed products meet company quality standards Team Leadership Lead and supervise fabrication and coating teams Assign daily responsibilities and production priorities Train and mentor shop employees Conduct employee evaluations and performance feedback Promote professionalism, accountability, and teamwork Daily Tasks & Duties Review production schedule each morning Conduct daily shop walkthroughs Assign production tasks to departments Coordinate workflow between departments Inspect work quality throughout production Resolve operational or staffing issues Communicate with office staff regarding project progress Ensure safety standards are maintained Verify jobs are completed and ready for install or delivery Required Qualifications Previous management or supervisory experience in fabrication, welding, manufacturing, or construction operations Strong understanding of welding and fabrication processes Ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings Strong leadership and communication skills Organizational and problem-solving abilities Preferred Qualifications Powder coating experience or knowledge OSHA or workplace safety training Experience with custom architectural metalwork Forklift or equipment operation experience Performance ExpectationsThe Operations Manager is expected to maintain operational efficiency, ensure projects meet deadlines, reduce errors and rework, maintain high-quality workmanship, and lead teams professionally while promoting safety and accountability.
