Description Our client, in chemical manufacturing, is looking for an EHS Manager to join their team in the Greater Nashville Area. Reporting to the Director of Safety & Compliance, you will help assess, design, and enhance EHS initiatives, driving a strong safety and compliance culture across the organization. This is a highly hands-on position that requires a significant presence on the production floor, partnering closely with operations, reinforcing safe behaviors, and actively supporting day-to-day activities. The ideal candidate has experience leading safety programs in a plant-based manufacturing environment, with a proven ability to conduct root cause analysis, manage incident investigations, and implement corrective actions. Success in this role will come from a collaborative, engaged approach and a willingness to be deeply involved in the operation rather than operating purely at a strategic level. ResponsibilitiesDevelop safety programs in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulationsEvaluate and update policies and SOPs to reflect regulatory changes and best practicesProvide leadership and guidance for training, environmental compliance, and safety Promote employee engagement through committees, recognition, and participation programsDesign and deliver onboarding and refresher safety trainingCoach and mentor staff on safety best practices and initiativesConduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments implementing corrective actions as neededLead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and development of preventive measuresCollaborate with cross-functional teams to drive safety improvementsConduct behavior-based safety observations and provide actionable feedbackAnalyze safety metrics to identify high-risk areas and recommend preventive measuresDrive continuous improvement initiatives and enhance overall safety cultureEnvironmental, Health, and Safety Manager (EHS & manufacturing exp. req.) Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required EHS experience within manufacturing required Proven experience leading safety initiatives in a plant setting requiredSkilled in root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions requiredExperience conducting safety and compliance audits required
