The Kitchen Prep Cook is a vital member of the culinary team, responsible for preparing ingredients and supporting production for large-scale catered functions, banquets, and events. This role focuses on high-volume food prep, including chopping, portioning, and basic cooking, while maintaining strict sanitation and safety standards in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment. We want to see you grow and develop your career with us, so if you're willing to learn, we're eager to teach.Job Duties• Maintain a professional and courteous attitude at all times.• Do your part to maintain a clean and organized environment for all.• Plan and direct food preparation to minimize food and supply waste.• Cook or directly supervise the cooking of items that require skillful preparation.• Other duties as assigned.Requirements• Must be 18 or older.• Must be friendly and a team player.• Work environment includes continuous interaction with co-workers in a fast-paced environment.• Ability to work indoors and outdoors.• Typical elements of this job are physical in nature.• Engage in standing/walking 6-8 hours at a time.• Ability to maneuver weight up to 50 pounds.• Schedule may entail evenings, weekends, and holidays.• Must pass a required criminal background check.Preferred Skills• Previous food preparation experience preferred.• Knowledge of proper cooking techniques.• Knowledge of perishables, product rotation, and safe food handling practices.• Intermediate cooking and knife handling skills.Benefits• Competitive pay.• Employee Discount: 10% at 60 days, 20% at two years.• Paid vacation time starting at six months.
