Department: Decoration (Night Shift)Greiner Packaging is seeking an Machine Process (Technician) to join our team in Pittston, Pennsylvania. This position is essential to maintaining smooth production operations at our manufacturing plant.Job Description: This position provides technical capability within the Decoration Department, with regards process optimization, product specifications and technical decision making. The decorations department is responsible for the production of the end product, from plain to decorated product with cardboard wrappingIn this position, you will learn specific Decoration process, equipment (specifically Hoerauf machinery), machine speeds, changeover times, product specifications and customer quality requirements.You will load and changeover machinery, and keep machines running smoothly; communicating any problems that arise to supervisors in a timely manner.You will have the opportunity to become an expert in operating and maintaining machinery. You will feel confident jumping in to make adjustments or changes as necessary to maintain production at the highest level, with the support of your Production, Warehouse, and Maintenance teammates.Process OptimizationFollow Standard Operating Procedures, set up new operating procedures as required for future department developmentEnsure all Food Safety / Hygiene / GMP requirements are adhered to at all time to ensure high levels of product safety and quality.Technical set up of machines to run at optimum speed, as per GPC benchmarks, including machine speed increases if required.Complete product changeovers as per production schedule and in accordance with established procedures and timeframesProvide support to ensure machine efficiency targets are achieved (trouble-shooting)Assist with management of machine downtime, including breakdown & maintenancePrepare and check changeover trolleysMinimize waste & scrap and record relevant dataTechnical ExpertiseDetect, root cause and resolve non-conforming source efficiently and effectively, using the continuous improvement approach to problem solvingCarry out maintenance tasksProvide assistance and/or technical support to maintenance engineersProvide electrical, controls and automation support to plant process, packaging and machine operationsSupport department in system and equipment troubleshooting and in technology transferMotivated to achieve department and company performance targetsBe a champion of Continuous Improvement Activity in the Decorations departmentProduct change oversQuality ChecksQualified operatorOwner of department tool inventoryProvide break coverage when necessaryAll other duties and tasks as assignedRequirementsExperience3-5 years’ experience in a Maintenance or high-level machine operator roleExperience With Hoerauf Machines Strongly Preferred But Not RequiredJob Type: Full-time, Night ShiftBenefits401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insuranceVision insuranceSchedule12 hour shiftNight shiftOvertimeWeekend availabilityAbility To Commute/relocatePittston, PA 18640: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)ExperienceProgrammable logic controllers: 1 year (Preferred)Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: In personWe provide equal opportunities for everyone and see diversity as our strength.
