A newly launching hedge fund is seeking an Investment Analyst to join its cross-asset investment platform focused on thematic, catalyst-driven investing across equities and credit.The strategy invests opportunistically across the capital structure with a focus on misunderstood trends, market dislocations, restructurings, and complex situations.ResponsibilitiesConduct deep fundamental research across equity and credit opportunitiesDevelop thematic investment views and identify catalysts across sectors and industriesAnalyze complex capital structures, restructurings, distressed situations, and special situations investmentsBuild and maintain detailed financial models and valuation frameworksMonitor portfolio positions, earnings, catalysts, and market developmentsPresent investment recommendations directly to the CIO and senior investment teamWork closely with legal and restructuring advisors on select investmentsAssist with portfolio construction and dynamic capital allocation decisions across equity and creditIdeal Background3–5 years of investing experience within a hedge fund, investment management firm, or restructuring / leveraged finance platformStrong preference for candidates with Industrials, Consumer, or Telco sector exposureOpen to strong generalists with a fundamental long/short equity background and a desire to learn creditExperience analyzing opportunities across the capital structure preferredUnderstanding of distressed investing, restructurings, and special situations is highly attractiveStrong financial modeling and valuation skillsetIntellectual curiosity around thematic and catalyst-driven investingCollaborative personality with an entrepreneurial mindset suited for an emerging manager environmentCandidate ProfileStrong academic and professional pedigreeFundamental, bottoms-up investor with a value-oriented mindsetAbility to think dynamically across both equity and credit opportunitiesComfortable operating in a lean, highly collaborative environmentInterest in joining a platform early and helping scale the business over time
