AI Enabled Full Stack DeveloperIrvine, CAJob SummaryReporting to the Manager, Applications Development in a multi-faceted,multi-location academic setting, the Senior Applications Developer designs,modifies, develops, writes and implements software programmingapplications and components; supports and/or installs software applicationsand components; works from written specifications and pre-establishedguidelines to perform the functions of the job and maintains documentationof process flow. In this role, "senior" carries a meaningful technical mentorshipexpectation — the candidate is expected to actively pro-actively lead,guide, and cultivate the technical growth of peers and junior developersthroughout all phases of delivery.Key Responsibilities• Gathers and analyzes the requirements from various users.• Utilizes established development tools, guidelines and conventionsincluding but not limited to ASP.NET, C#/.NET Core, T-SQL/EF Core, Angular,Azure (or equivalent cloud platform), HTML, JSON, CSS, andJavaScript/TypeScript• Leverages AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, orsimilar) and agentic workflows throughout the full software developmentlifecycle — from requirements analysis and architecture through coding,testing, deployment, and documentation.• Designs, codes, and tests cloud-native and cloud-first web applicationsand solutions, including containerized workloads, serverless functions, andmanaged cloud services; supports on-prem solutions where required.• Enhances existing systems by analyzing business objectives, preparing anaction plan, and identifying areas for modernization, cloud migration, orimprovement.• Maintains existing software systems by identifying and correcting softwaredefects.• Investigates and develops skills in new technologies, including emergingAI/ML capabilities, cloud services, and agentic development patterns;stays current with industry trends.1• On occasion, writes reports on adoption of new technology, including AItooling and cloud platform capabilities.• Creates problem prevention strategies for the project, or any other aspectof the work in the office.• Creates project documents such as project definition documents, businessrequirements, functional specifications, requirements and deliverableplans.• Analyzes and designs solutions to meet requirements; writes technicalspecifications; develops applications; and works with quality assuranceteams throughout delivery of features, patches, and final releases. Designs,codes, tests, debugs and documents solutions throughout the entireprocess, applying AI-assisted tools where appropriate to improve qualityand throughput.• Provides system training for administrative, professional, and staff on theapplicable system and procedures including software, components of thesystem, how to integrate and use software applications and overallprocesses.• Actively mentors and cultivates the technical skills of junior and mid-leveldevelopers; leads code reviews, pair programming sessions, andknowledge-sharing initiatives; fosters a culture of continuous learning withinthe team.• Assists business areas in identifying and determining the business directionand potential areas of improvement.• Works with business users on the design, testing, and implementation ofsolutions; works with third-party vendors.• Manages implementation of business solutions such as the release ofsoftware/enhancements, process changes, and end-user training anddocumentation.Qualifications• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, orInformation Systems or equivalent experience.• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in design, architecture, implementation,and deployment of application solution platforms, with a demonstratedtrack record of technically leading and mentoring other developers.2• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS or GCPacceptable) including compute, storage, networking, identity, andmanaged services; experience designing and deploying cloud-nativearchitectures (microservices, containers, serverless).• Demonstrated experience incorporating AI development tools (e.g., GitHubCopilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) and agentic workflows into dailydevelopment and SDLC practices — not just awareness, but active, habitualuse.• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Bicep,Terraform, ARM templates), and DevOps practices in a cloud environment.• Ability to troubleshoot software, infrastructure, and cloud platformproblems.• Ability to perform research and evaluate emerging technologies, includingAI/ML services and cloud-native tooling.• Strong technical communications skills, willingness to ask questions,challenge the process and seek out answers.• Solid knowledge of agile project processes and the software developmentlife cycle.• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.• Strong time management skills, ability to multi-task, ability to work withminimal supervision.• Strong Experience with relational and document-based databases (Ex.
