Job Description The primary purpose of this position involves all phases of plant operations, problem solving, electrical integration, drafting/AutoCAD and providing engineering and maintenance shop floor support, and project management to the manufacturing departments. This includes being responsible for project management from procurement to the implementation phase. This position will report directly to the Technical Support Manager. Standard Work Schedule: 6:00 am - 4:30 pm (Monday - Thursday) Primary Responsibilities: Providing a high level of service to the shop floor and project support to the manufacturing departments and meeting quality and safety goals and efficiencies. Responsible for major project management from procurement to implementation phase. Involvement in all phases of plant operations, problem solving, electrical integration and drafting/AutoCAD. Project management within budgetary and manufacturing constraints including budgeting of capital and expense dollars for shop floor support and helping establish long range plans for areas of responsibility. Work closely with Product Engineering Department on product changes and upgrades. Supervision of non-exempt maintenance employees assigned to the applicable value stream. This includes assignment of work, performance evaluations, employee development, employee engagement, employee discipline, training and safety. Secondary Responsibilities: Investigate and test new technologies for applicability studies as they relate to our products. Establish tolerances and machine specifications support for production area. Coordinate maintenance functions as it relates to their project work. Direct interaction with the QA Department, purchasing and accounting areas. Maintain product routings in SAP. This would include allocation of part numbers, material usage, waste and labor. Use Lean Principles to improve the existing equipment and production systems (VMM). Qualifications: A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering is required. Three to five years strong technical background in mechanical/electrical experience in a manufacturing shop floor environment is required. Applied experience in supervising and leading work teams, conflict resolution, and employee performance appraisals is preferred. Previous experience in working with/supporting manufacturing maintenance is required. Applied experience in Lean or Six Sigma methodology is required. Working knowledge of Allan Bradley (ControlLogix, SLC 500) software is required. Must have a broad range of electronic and mechanical application knowledge. Ability to develop preventative maintenance procedures for all types of plant related machinery and equipment as well as safe operating procedures. Understanding of Blueprints, machine schematics and knowledge of PLC programming is required. Ability to assist in the development of expense budgets and capital project budgets. Excellent communication skill, both oral and written. Good time-management, organization and task prioritization abilities. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, determine project urgency and create detailed action plans. Working knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office, Project, AutoCAD, Ethernet and Sold Works is required. Previous knowledge of SAP operating system is preferred. Excellent decision making and problem solving skills. The desire and ability to work in a manufacturing team environment. Project a positive and professional image. Overall good work, attendance and safety record. Ability to perform the essential functions assigned to the position.
