Guest Service RepresentativeSummit Hospitality Group is looking for a Guest Service Representative to provide memorable service to our guests while conducting various daily operations. Daily operations consist of guest interaction by recording and communicating guest special requests and problems to the appropriate department to ensure that they have been addressed in a timely and professional manner.Prerequisites/Qualifications:Two years previous experience as a Front Desk Rep. for a name brand hotel chain; preference for Marriott, Hilton, and HyattStrong leadership skillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsDemonstrated planning and organizational abilityAble to prioritize and quickly change direction as needs ariseWorking knowledge of FOSSE, Microsoft programming, Excel, Clover, and Micros Restaurant Management SystemAble to diagnose and repair simple computer problemsSkilled in math and able to operate a 10 key by touchDuties & Responsibilities:Provide customer service to guests in an intelligent and professional mannerRun shift reports/journals from Front Office SystemsPrepare daily arrivals/departure reports with a strong focus on guest requestsMakes corrections and adjustments and handles all computer problems that might occur throughout the shiftReviews and corrects discrepancies in the Front Desk SystemEnsures complete guest satisfactionCompletes guest registration processMust be familiar with computer systems for guest reservation information processingMust verify and imprint guest credit cards for authorizationMust be well versed in cash handling and accurately balance house bankAssigns guests rooms based on preferences and availabilityDrives the revenue management process by selling rooms at various ratesHandles guest issues and concerns in a tactful manner and works to achieve a satisfactory resolutionAnswers questions in regards to hotel facilities and servicesAnswers the telephone and books reservationsAnswers guest inquiries for local directions/eventsRecommends local area restaurants, points of interest, or needs for transportationMaintains cleanliness of front desk, lobby, and back officeFollows up promptly with guest check-ins, complaints, and other requestsInteracts in a professional manner with other departments and employees to ensure a good working relationship and hospitable atmosphere for guestsUnderstand all emergency procedures for incidents, accidents, fire, safety, or criminal activityParticipates in hotel safety committeeEnsures the quality standards for the hotel brand and Summit Hospitality Group are maintained for property, product, and peopleDuties are subject to change and additional duties may be assigned as needed by the manager on dutyAble to drive company's vehicle for guests transportation to/fromAssists with setting up meeting roomsWork Environment:Flexible work schedule including weekends; this position is referred to as first or second shiftAble to lift 50 lbsValid driver's licenseSitting, standing, reaching, and bending for extended periods of time
