Purpose
Maintain case management of special education students, assess them for eligibility, and establish appropriate special education plans, providing support in the classroom.
Responsibilities
Conduct all aspects of student special education evaluations, maintain knowledge of best practices, compile reports, obtain consents, document in eSped, and follow timelines.
Perform all special education administrative activities, coordinate assistive technology services, keep the principal informed, verify attendance and progress reports, maintain compliance, respond to parent inquiries, and document service provision.
Handle student special education data during enrollment and withdrawal, process transfer documents, ensure compliance and archive records.
Provide special education counseling as needed.
Schedule, facilitate, and document Individual Education Program (IEP) meetings, review teacher submissions, maintain records, and coordinate communication among service providers.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in School Psychology and Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) certification.
Knowledge of state and Federal Special Education law, ARD process, and disabilities' impact on children.
Skilled in developing compliant IEPs and counseling students with disabilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively under timelines with accuracy and attention to detail.
Skilled in maintaining accurate student records.
Effective relationship building skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel) and web applications.
Knowledge of state testing requirements and procedures (STARR).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience as a special education teacher.
Experience with eSped.
Salary Range
$75,000 plus depending on qualifications.
Working Conditions
Schools are located within residential treatment facilities in the Austin, Waco, and San Antonio areas. Travel required.
