Position Title: Executive Chef – Irvine, CA
Salary: $100,000–$110,000 annually
Schedule: M‑F Breakfast & lunch; occasional late catering & happy hours
Eurest is the leader in corporate dining, serving 16,000 chefs and associates across the nation. As the Executive Chef, you will oversee kitchen operations, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment while preparing or directing meals in line with corporate programs and guidelines.
Job Summary
You will maintain quality and safety across all culinary services, manage inventory, and lead staff training. The role requires substantial catering experience and an entrepreneurial approach to culinary leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Plan regular and modified menus according to established guidelines
Follow standardized recipes, portioning and presentation standards; complete and utilize daily production and waste log sheets; taste completed meals to ensure quality
Train kitchen staff in food preparation, safe handling, equipment operation, and food safety and sanitation based on company and regulatory standards
Establish and maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment, storage and work areas, ensuring staff follow and complete assigned tasks
Maintain inventory of food and non‑food supplies to stay within guidelines while ensuring product availability
Make decisions regarding utilization of leftover food products within company guidelines
Comply with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures, as evidenced by local health department and third‑party audits
Follow facility, department and company safety policies and procedures, including occurrence reporting
Participate in departmental meetings, staff development and professional programs as appropriate
Preferred Qualifications
A.S. or equivalent experience
5+ years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending on formal degree or training
Extensive catering experience required
High‑volume, complex foodservice operations experience—highly desirable
Institutional and batch‑cooking experience
Hands‑on chef experience required in corporate or fine dining
Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls and presentation
Proficient with computers: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, e‑mail and the Internet
Willingness to participate in client satisfaction programs/activities
ServSafe certification—highly desirable
