All employees are part of the "team" that works for the benefit of the campers.Education And Work ExperienceExperience working with children preferredKitchen experience preferredKnowledge, Skills, And Abilities RequiredAble to maintain cleanliness & safety standards for kitchen and food servicesPossess good leadership skills and ability to assist other staffGood verbal communication skillsMust be knowledgeable in the areas of children/personnel safety assessment, planning, problem solving, and crisis interventionBe able to pass a child safety background checkEssential DutiesMaintain cleanliness and order in your person and living quartersAssist with cleanup of the total camp at the end of teaching session and at the conclusion of the summerAttend and participate in all staff meetingsParticipate in all camp programs as requiredFollow guidelines given during orientation regarding standards for program, safety, and health concernsEnsure daily garbage removal to include weekly or periodic “dump runs”Make recommendations for building and ground repairCutting of lawns and grass and keeping all grounds looking attractiveSweep cement surfacesHelp keep garbage area clean and orderlyKeep supply of campfire wood. Start and extinguish campfire on nights when campfire is neededSweep, mop, disinfect, and deodorize Clean Goebel, Cedar Circle, and Peaceful Pines Bathrooms dailyPeriodically check bathrooms to ensure they are kept in proper orderCheck multipurpose room (chapel) daily, straightening chairs, sweeping, litter, etc.Take care of Camp Gifford equipment and toolsAssist with dining hall maintenance as directed by the Maintenance CoordinatorOther duties as assignedPhysical RequirementsSit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basisGrasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overheadOperate a telephoneLift up to 25 lbs.Understand written informationQualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
