Methodist Dallas Medical Center – OB/GYN Hospitalist The Methodist Dallas Medical Center, a Level III NICU hospital with approximately 1,900 annual deliveries, has been recognized for its high standards of care since 1927. Role Overview As an OB/GYN Hospitalist you will provide comprehensive inpatient obstetric care, work collaboratively with local obstetricians, and have the freedom to create your own schedule. Typical work consists of five to seven 24‑hour shifts per month with no on‑call duty or office management. Key Responsibilities Provide emergency obstetric care to all pregnant women who present to the hospital. Build relationships with staff nurses and hospital personnel. Support private practice physicians by providing coverage and assistance. Care for unassigned patients and evaluate triage cases. Offer clinical consultation in the emergency department. Monitor labor and deliver babies. Perform surgical procedures and assist in surgeries. Evaluate and treat postpartum patients. Provide nurse support and educational sessions. Qualifications Board‑eligible or board‑certified OB/GYN. Exceptional clinical and communication skills. Passion for healthcare quality improvement. Desire to shape the future of the specialty. Responsibilities Ensure program’s clinical and operational objectives are met. Collaborate with the Medical Director of Operations and the MDO to deliver excellent care and maintain relationships. Oversee the financial health of the program. Work five or more hospitalist shifts each month. Travel as needed to address hospital and operational priorities.
