Lead Teacher

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in early childhood education, special education, and working with children with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities. As a Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing learning environment, developing curriculum, and guiding both students and fellow educators to foster academic and social growth. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and behavioral health. Manage classroom behavior effectively using behavior management techniques and positive reinforcement strategies. Utilize learning technology and assistive communication tools to support diverse learning needs. Conduct assessments such as ASQ reviews to monitor student progress. Collaborate with speech therapists, behavioral therapists, and other specialists to support children with autism, developmental disabilities, or other special needs. Support children’s childhood development milestones. Maintain accurate documentation related to lesson plans, student progress, and behavioral reports. Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning for children of various ages including toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged students. Engage in ongoing professional development in areas such as classroom management, curriculum development, Montessori methods, or behavioral health. Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and educational strategies. Requirements Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings; preschool or daycare experience preferred. Strong knowledge of childhood development theories, special education practices, and behavioral health strategies. Experience working with students who have autism or other developmental disabilities; familiarity with IEP processes is highly desirable. Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to develop engaging curricula tailored to individual student needs. Knowledge of learning technology tools and methods for teaching physical education or literacy education. Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, behavioral therapists, and parents. Strong communication skills to effectively convey information to children, colleagues, and families. Certification or degree in early childhood education, special education, Montessori methods, or related fields is preferred but not mandatory depending on experience.
