Electrical Project Engineer

Title : Electrical Project EngineerLocation : La Grange, ILHire Type : Long term contractShift : Mon-Fri, 6-8am to 3-5pmTarget Hourly Rate : $55.00-57.00Benefits : As a contract employee of Sterling, you are eligible to receive a Full Employee Benefits Package that includes paid time off, paid holidays, 3 medical plans to choose from, dental & vision plans, 401(k), and an Employee Stock Ownership (ESOP) plan.Overview: Prepare, design, develop electrical application designs for complete locomotive electrical systems per customer specification, engineering standards, and previous designs.Job Duties:Design and develop electrical systems and schematics for locomotive applications based on customer requirementsSupport manufacturing with troubleshooting, design updates, and documentation (limited involvement)Collaborate with suppliers to select and integrate electrical components and systemsReview and interpret customer and engineering specifications to guide design workManage project timelines, deliverables, and communicate status updatesParticipate in design reviews throughout developmentCreate and maintain accurate electrical design documentationStay current on new technologies and apply improvements where applicablePerform core electrical design tasks such as circuit design, component selection, load analysis, and BOM developmentQualifications:BSEE degree (or equivalent) required3 - 5 years of experience in developing/designing vehicle based electrical systemsAbility to read and understand electrical schematics and application drawings.Training / experience in electrical controls including machines, controls, and power systems.Experience with computer aided electrical schematic generation.Experience utilizing SAP (or equivalent) for parts usage and BOM determinationExperience with NX or other mechanical CAD applicationsQualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or genetic information.
