We are a diverse company offering professional mentorshipand continuing career training for dedicated, goal-oriented individuals.The Highway Sign Installer is responsible for creating and installing roadway signs, preparing, repairingand installation of traffic signs and pavement marking on highways, bridges, bicycle paths and other variousroadways. This position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance and proceduresand safety guidelines.Essential Job FunctionsIncludes, but is not limited to, the job specifications contained herein. Additional duties or job functions may be required as deemed necessary by management personnel to contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings and specificationsTransportation of materials, tools and equipment to/from installation sitesCut materials to specified sizes for installation by use of power toolsAssemble and install signs adjacent to high-volume roadways using pneumatic tools and equipment ensuring that signs are placed in proper locationsAbility to drive a vehicle properly and safelyAbility to operate tools properly and safelyAbility to set up traffic control if requiredAbility to safely lift, move, or carry objects weighing 50 lbs.This position requires a valid and clean drivers’ licenseHighway Sign assembly and installation experience preferredPerform all other duties as assignedDesired Qualifications3-5 years of highway sign installation or related industry experienceMOT Advanced certificationWhat's in it for You?Competitive pay and growthFull comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insuranceVacation and PTO (paid time off)401(K) plan + company matchPerformance bonusOvertimeRequirementsRequired Skills:Repeated physical effort including driving for several hours per day or several hours at a time, standing and walking for extended periods of time (more than several hours), loading and unloading equipment into and out of company vehicles, walking on varying ground surfaces and frequently lifting a minimum of 50 poundsWorking from elevated platforms, ladders or truck bedsOperating hand/power tools, manual dexterity to operate keyboards and smart phones, physical agility to use arms, legs and hands repetitivelyWorking outdoors, working safely under adverse environmental and weather conditions which include high speed traffic areas, heavy construction equipment, fuel fumes and construction substancesComfortable around vehicles moving through work zones and maintaining constant awareness of surroundings on construction site including placement of machinery and equipment, other employees and construction activitiesVision adequate to see moving vehicles, read highway construction MOT signs, read instructions, manuals, reports, and construction plansHearing adequate to hear approaching vehicles, audible commands at a distance from supervisors, conversations in person, and over the telephoneCommunicating clearly - both written and verbally, ability to complete daily paperwork as required by supervisorWorking a flexible schedule which can include day or night shifts, weekends and/or holidays, adjusting to a changing work schedule, working overtime and working individually and as a team with other employeesValid driver's license required, will require passing MVR and controlled substance test, may require background and criminal record check. Knowledge of local driving rules and regulationsMust maintain company standards post-employment for background checks, criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing
