Juvenile Correctional Facility Officer

Job Summary Texas Juvenile Justice Department - Brownwood, Texas facility. We are seeking a dedicated Juvenile Correctional Facility Officer to oversee and support the safety, security, and well-being of youth within a juvenile detention facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining order, enforcing rules, and ensuring a secure environment conducive to rehabilitation. This role requires strong conflict management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations. Prior experience in law enforcement, security, or military service is highly valued. Duties Monitor and supervise juvenile residents to ensure compliance with facility rules and regulations Conduct regular security checks using CCTV systems and patrol assigned areas to prevent disturbances or escapes Respond promptly to incidents or emergencies, utilizing conflict management and first aid skills as needed Write detailed incident reports accurately documenting events, behaviors, and interventions Enforce disciplinary measures fairly and consistently while maintaining a professional demeanor Maintain a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols and conducting routine inspections of the facility Provide support in crises through CPR or other emergency response techniques when necessary Qualifications Prior experience in law enforcement, security, military service, or related fields is preferred Certification in CPR and First Aid is highly desirable Knowledge of report writing procedures Strong conflict management skills with the ability to de-escalate tense situations Ability to work effectively under pressure in a structured environment Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Demonstrated ability to follow protocols related to security and safety regulations Must be able to pass background checks and meet all pre-employment screening requirements High School Diploma or GED Pay: From $4,568.72 per month Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Employee assistance program Employee discount Flexible spending account Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Military leave Paid time off Referral program Retirement plan Vision insurance Work Location: In person
