Event Producer – High-End Catering & Venue Production
About the RoleJoel Catering is seeking an Event Producer to lead the planning, production, and on-site execution of exceptional events across our venues and off-premise locations.Event Producers own events from the production handoff four to six months prior to event through execution. This role combines client leadership, creative event design, operational coordination, and hands-on event management.The ideal candidate is highly organized, calm under pressure, and motivated by delivering seamless experiences for clients and guests. Event Producers take ownership of every detail and ensure each event reflects the standards of the Joel Experience.Key ResponsibilitiesEvent Planning & Client LeadershipOwn events from production handoff (approximately 4–6 months out) through executionGuide clients through layouts, timelines, and event design decisionsFinalize event details within approved budgets while identifying opportunities to enhance the guest experienceEnsure all production paperwork, proposals, and documentation are accurate and completeEvent Production & CoordinationCoordinate vendors, staffing, equipment, and internal teams including kitchen, warehouse, delivery, and FOHCollaborate with sales and operations teams to ensure smooth event transitions and planning continuityCommunicate and enforce venue guidelines when producing events at Joel-operated venuesMaintain strong communication with clients and vendors throughout the planning processEvent ExecutionLead on-site execution including setup, service flow, staff supervision, and breakdownTroubleshoot challenges in real time and maintain calm leadership during live eventsEnsure venue presentation, service standards, and event flow meet Joel expectationsMaintain operational readiness and proactively address issues before they impact the guest experienceQualificationsBased in the Greater New Orleans area5+ years of event production, hospitality management, or catering experienceStrong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple complex events simultaneouslyExcellent communication and relationship-building skillsAbility to remain calm and solution-focused under pressureGenuine interest in food, hospitality, and creating thoughtful culinary experiencesAble to work evenings, weekends, and event schedulesExperience with Caterease, Prismm, or similar event software is a plusCommitment to accountability, ownership, and follow-throughAbout Joel CateringJoel Catering is known for creating exceptional event experiences across New Orleans.
