Focused on empowering low-income and at-risk youth, the organization works to cultivate a strong value system, personal motivation, and positive self-esteem. By collaborating with parents, schools, churches, local businesses, and residents, Detroit Impact aims to nurture responsible and engaged community members. The organization is committed to creating opportunities and providing resources for the betterment of its community. Role Description This is an on-site volunteer role located in Detroit, MI. Volunteers will assist with program activities designed to promote personal development, academic success, and community engagement among youth participants. Daily tasks may include organizing educational workshops, mentoring young individuals, assisting with events, providing administrative support, and working collaboratively with staff and community members to implement initiatives that further Detroit Impact’s mission. Qualifications Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including mentoring and relationship-building abilitiesExperience in event coordination or working with youth programs is a plusOrganizational and administrative skills, including time management and attention to detailAbility to work effectively in a team setting and cooperate with diverse groups of peoplePassion for community service and a commitment to making a positive impactBasic computer and technology skills are advantageousA background or interest in education, social work, or non-profit initiatives is beneficial
