ECG/Stress Technician - Cardiac Services - Casual -Variable Shifts

Job Description:PURPOSE OF JOB:To aid in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disorders, the ECG/Stress technician performs non-invasive cardiovascular tests on a patient population and is responsible for Age Specific Criteria for Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults and Geriatrics (by orientation and yearly competency validation) in a variety of settings in the hospital including all nursing Units, O/P Testing areas and the Emergency Department.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Performs diagnostic testing and completes required documentation within the Cardiac Services Department.Promotes safety through adherence to protocols, policies and Joint Commission patient safety goals.Actively participates and supports departmental and organizational quality initiatives and goals.Communicates and collaborates within the department and hospital to provide supportive functions as necessary to achieve/maintain departmental fiscal goals.Maintains clinical and technical competence according to unit specific standards.Job Qualifications:QUALIFICATIONS:A. EducationHigh School graduate or equivalentCCT (Certified Cardiographic Technician) registry or Certified EKG technician preferred but not required. B. ExperienceMinimally 2 years experience as an ECG technician in a hospital/medical facilitypreferredC. SkillsArrhythmia recognition preferredPerforming electrocardiograms, stress testing and holter monitor applicationTraining may be provided to qualified applicants
