Management Support Specialist

The Management Support Specialist (Grants) is responsible for grant development, finance, and administrative oversight including advisory and networking board communications in assuring grant compliance in all aspects of grant operations. Duties included are administrative coordination; grant finance and program report submissions providing technical assistance to partner agencies, ensuring quality, and policy development. Incumbents may represent Sewa Uusim, on committees and with grant funding project officers and internal and external evaluators under the direction of the Agency Director. Incumbents may formally supervise other staff while assigned to grant projects.Develop agency grants, oversee finance, and program requirements for existing grant-funded projects. Provide research, analysis, recommendations to managers, and director; identify potential service, needs, or training to elevate issues providing positive outcomes for targeted populations in the tribal community. Supervise assigned employees and contracted staff, prioritize and assign work, create scope of work, conduct performance evaluations, ensure staff is trained and follow policies and procedures, maintain a healthy and safe working environment. Develop, implement, and evaluate strategic planning and objectives for assigned grants and projects. Address grant stated requirements, address inquiries, service issues, complete reports maintain communications with grantor staff and evaluators. Administer and monitor the grant/project budget(s) including allocating resources and approving expenditures. Perform other duties of a similar nature or level as requested by supervisor or director. Knowledge of:Embrace Sewa Uusim concepts including services provision, strength-based assessment and the Wraparound Team approach; Supervisory principles; Public and behavioral Health strategies for care; Organizational and team development; Business administration principle; General mathematical concepts; Report preparation techniques; English language, grammar and punctuation; Yaqui culture, customs, resources and traditions and/or a willingness to learn.Skills And AbilitiesSound Grant Writing/Language and Compliance Skills; Maintain records and prepare reports; Manage and execute multiple tasks and projects; Analyze, evaluate, and interpret planning principles; Prepare, present data, and reports; Develop an prepare a variety of business correspondence, records, reports, documents, forms, and visual graphics; Plan, organize, and conduct community meetings, collations, and outreach; Provide customer services; Apply and explain applicable laws, codes, regulation, policies and/or procedures; Prepare and proof reading a variety of reports and/or documentation; Operate a variety of office equipment, including a computer and related software applications; Good communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, supervisor, management, Council members, and the public. Have ability to sufficiently exchange or convey information and receive verbal and written work instructions.Bachelor Degree in Public Administration, Public Health Administration or a related field, with two (2) years of related experience or combination of experience and education.ANDExperience with Tribal/Community Development is preferred; Experience with Native American Community Health is preferred.Special Requirements:Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver's License;This position will require the incumbent to work non-traditional hours, nights, and weekends;Must have a current Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card or be able to obtain the Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card within ninety (90) days of hire. Failure to maintain a current Level 1 Clearance Card will result in termination.
