Project Manager

Kitchell seeks an experienced and dedicated Project Manager II to join our Bay Area region in the City of San Francisco and build a long-term career at one of the most innovative and growth-oriented building companies in the United States.Experience with Design Build Delivery method is strong preferred. Project scope is a parking structure. The client is in the Community College Market Sector with other ongoing projects under DSA oversight. ResponsibilitiesProviding PM/CM Consultant Services as an Owner’s Representative over a ground-up parking structure (Future project scope will be in the higher education market sector)Ensures operations are executed in accordance with company project management procedures and policiesensures delivery and adherence to contractual requirements and that all aspects of owner contracts are accomplishedManage the procurement phase and development of RFQs and RFPsOversight of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications to ensure relation and compliance to project requirementsCoordinate, direct, and monitor activities of contractors/subcontractors, engineers, architects, and related performing entitiesManage project controls, cost, schedule, performance activities, and procedures required by the clientIdentifies and manages risk on the project, and advises and confers with regional executive prior to implementing risk mitigation actionsActively participates on internal teams that focus on continuous improvement of the companyEnsures workplace health and safety policies and procedures are clearly communicated and understood by direct reports and enforces rules fairly and uniformlyQualifications Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline is preferred10 or more years of experience as a Construction or Project Manager in the Construction industry is requiredExperience in the Education/Division of the State Architect (DSA) market is requiredExperience with an Integrated Project Delivery method such as Design-Build as well as traditional Design Bid-build method is preferredKnowledge and SkillsEffective presentation skills, ability to develop and deliver presentations to the end users, stakeholders, board of education is requiredProficient user skills with the MS Suite of tools and Bluebeam is requiredWorking knowledge of standard industry tools such as P6 and Procore is strongly preferredEffective verbal and written communication skills to foster and maintain interpersonal relationships is requiredProvide leadership and financial management support to the project team is requiredLicense and Certifications A valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record, free from suspensions or restrictions is requiredA Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential, a Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) certification, AND/OR a LEED Professional Accreditation is strongly preferredTravel RequirementsPosition is project site based in the City of San Francisco.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly work in an office, an office trailer, and/or in a construction jobsite environment. Conditions regularly include exposure to outdoor elements, hot/cold temperatures, wet conditions, noise, atmospheric conditions, and cramped quarters. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly sit, stand, walk, talk or hear and use hands to finger, feel and handle; frequently reach with hands and arms; occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The Company’s salary ranges are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data.
