Small Equipment Operator
Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Small Equipment Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a variety of small to medium-sized construction equipment to support project execution efficiently and safely. Your expertise will help ensure that construction activities are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. Duties
Operate small and heavy construction equipment including loaders, backhoes, excavators, dozers, cranes, and front loader trucks to perform tasks such as grading, excavation, material handling, and site preparation
Manage various trucks such as dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, tanker trucks, and front loader trucks for transporting materials and equipment around the site
Assist with concrete mixing operations using concrete mixers and support related tasks for foundation and structural work
Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance; perform basic maintenance or report issues promptly
Follow safety protocols diligently during all operations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to site safety guidelines
Collaborate with team members to coordinate the movement of materials and machinery efficiently across the construction site
Maintain accurate logs of equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and operational reports to ensure accountability and compliance
Experience
Proven experience operating construction machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, and other heavy equipment in a construction environment
Hands-on experience with various trucks including dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, tanker trucks, and front loader trucks
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues and perform routine maintenance
Knowledge of construction site safety standards and best practices for heavy equipment operation
Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or equivalent certification preferred for operating certain vehicles on-site
Familiarity with construction materials handling processes involving concrete mixers and farm machinery is advantageous
Prior experience working with Caterpillar (CAT) machinery or similar brands is a plus
