Speech Language Pathologist Location: Abilene, TX Agency: Acruex Health Pay: $2,200 to $2,400 per week Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Pay Rate: $55.00 - $60.00/Hourly. Summary: A Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) in Long Term Care (LTC) evaluates, diagnoses, and treats residents with communication, speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. The SLP works with elderly patients and individuals with chronic conditions to improve their speech, language abilities, cognitive function, and safe swallowing, thereby enhancing their overall quality of life. Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, voice, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. Evaluate residents with conditions such as stroke, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, traumatic brain injury, and neurological disorders. Identify dysphagia (swallowing disorders) and determine appropriate dietary recommendations. Requirements Requirements: 2 years SLP experience Required, TX License or compact, BLS Certification, Speech and Language Pathologists (SLP) License.
