Aluminum WelderLocation: Mickey Truck Bodies High Point, NC Job Type: Full-Time Shifts: 2nd Monday-Thursday 5pm to 5:30 am, OT Fridays and some SaturdaysPay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour plus $2/hr shift differential for 2nd shift Bonus: Bi-Weekly Productivity & Performance Bonus $1,000 HIRING BONUSJob OverviewThe welder is responsible for welding trucks and trailer bodies using primarily aluminum and TIG processes. This position requires proficiency in MIG and TIG processes and the ability to read blueprints and work independently to meet quality and production standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Mickey Truck Bodies is a premier manufacturer of state-of-the-art bodies and trailers, and specially engineered vehicles sold in over 50 countries around the world. The company operates in 4 states with over 400 Mickey employees at these locations.What You'll DoPerform MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), and other welding processes on aluminum, steel, and other metal components with flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, welding symbols, and specifications.Fit, tack, and weld components as needed for the manufacturing of truck and trailer bodies.Ensure welds meet required specifications and quality standards.Operate welding equipment, cutting torches, grinders, and other fabrication tools safely and efficiently.Inspect completed welds and assemblies for accuracy, defects, and compliance; make repairs as necessary.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and report equipment issues.Meet production schedules while maintaining high-quality workmanship.What We're Looking ForTechnical school or welding certification preferred but not required.Minimum 23 years of welding experience in a manufacturing environmentExperience TIG welding aluminum requiredExperience in truck body, trailer, or heavy equipment manufacturing strongly preferredManual dexterity and visual acuity required for welding and inspection.Understanding of welding symbols and fabrication tolerancesSkilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, grinders, and measuring devicesAbility to troubleshoot welding defects and equipment issuesStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanshipGood time management and ability to meet production deadlinesAbility to read and interpret data and blueprintsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standardAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operations manual, blueprints, and written directions (Work Orders)Must be able to read a tape measurePhysical RequirementsAbility to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.Ability to work in various welding positions for extended periods.Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for welding and inspection.Must be able to communicate clearlyRequires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.Requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, crawl, and kneelSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.BenefitsBi-Weekly Productivity and Performance BonusPaid Vacation TimeMedical, Dental and Vision Insurance (employee cost share)Wellness Plan with IncentivesFlexible Spending Accounts (FSA)Company-Paid Short-Term Disability InsuranceCompany-Paid Long-Term Disability InsuranceCompany-Paid Basic Life Insurance with AD&D401(k) with Company MatchWork EnvironmentFast-paced, production-focused manufacturing environment.Exposure to noise, fumes, insulation materials, metal dust, and moving machineryTemperature variations depending on seasonEqual Opportunity EmployerMickey Truck Bodies and Subsidiaries is an equal opportunity employer.
