High School Diploma or GED required At least 1 year of customer service, library, or administrative experience Familiarity with computers, internet research, and e-reader or tablet technology Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher) Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Ability to assist patrons and work in a team-oriented public service environment Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and perform shelving tasks Responsibilities Operate the library circulation desk , including opening and closing procedures Check in and check out books, periodicals, and other library materials Shelve materials and maintain accurate organization of library stacks Assist patrons in locating materials using the electronic catalog system and library databases Provide basic technology support for library computers, printers, and internet access Maintain cleanliness and organization of library shelves and public spaces Catalog and maintain magazines and other library materials Assist with library events, educational programs, and community activities such as story time, book clubs, and seasonal programs Create promotional materials including flyers, bookmarks, and event displays Support development of monthly event calendars and programming schedules Help promote library services within the community by distributing materials to local organizations and businesses More Than Just a Paycheck.Real support.
