POSITION: Purchasing Associate REPORTS TO: Procurement Manager SUMMARY: The Procurement Specialist facilitates the timely and economical acquisition of standard and non-standard products required by the business. The ideal candidate for this job is energetic, inquisitive, organized, detail-oriented and not afraid to get their hands dirty. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Source, negotiate and procure materials, services, supplies and other commodities as required by the business. Working with Quality Assurance for inspection upon delivery to ensure orders are filled correctly and that goods meet specifications Execute order administration in adherence with spend and inventory targets. Maintain inventory targets factoring risk, lead time, and supply chain constraints. Mitigate risk to prevent supply interruptions while maintaining appropriate inventory levels. Monitor stock levels and assist in determining min/max levels Work with maintenance to purchase replacement parts and wear items for our manufacturing equipment Create purchase orders based on observed stock levels and forecasted demand Analyze and resolve purchasing issues/discrepancies including invoice issues Stay up to date on industry trends and new products Support the internal administration of various internal Teams All other duties assigned ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Cost/price analysis skills Ability to use knowledge of purchasing regulations to negotiate orders, evaluate and select vendors, determine appropriate costs and prices, and closeout all types of purchase orders and/or subcontracts Developing strong relationships with key suppliers and measure suppliers' performance based on cost, quality, delivery, and service level Ability to quickly adapt to purchasing software utilized internally by company Exceptional prioritization, organization, and time management skills with strong attention to detail required Being adept using technology to manage procurement to stay in front of upcoming changes Ability to tactfully handle tight deadlines when required. Self-managed with the ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment with rapidly changing priorities. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Standing and walking up to 8 hours Able to lift and carry 25 to 50 lbs. Able to continually bend, stoop, twist, use arms, wrists and hands (including grasping and squeezing) throughout shift Able to occasionally kneel, reach above the shoulder, work at heights and climb steps with ingredients weighing 25 to 50 lbs.
