JOB REQUIREMENTS: POSITION OVERVIEW The HDD Mud Technician isresponsible for ensuring that the drilling fluid properties meet theDesigned And Operational Specifications. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIESControls the technology to prepare the drilling mud Monitors thedrilling fluid mud cleaning system\'s operation Participates in theoptimization of the flushing fluids, and cleaning equipment modes ofoperation Recommends optimal operating modes for cleaning fluid stagesEnsures the biopolymer fluid parameters comply with work plansRecommends treatment of drilling fluid with reagents Recommends thereplacement of drilling fluid to maintain optimal parameters anddrilling fluid system properties Ensures compliance with labordiscipline and technological and safety regulations Complies with therequirements for non-disclosure of confidential information Minimizeswaste associated with draining fluids Works with drilling engineers andtechnicians to ensure a cost-effective drilling process Measures theright amount of mud needed at all stages Assists technicians during thedrilling process Provide input in the selection of drill bits OtherDuties As Assigned. QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS Highschool diploma or equivalent required Previous experience with HDDoperations, specifically fluid systems, drilling fluids, and drillingbits Knowledge of different drilling contaminants, additives, and mudtreatment Possession of a valid driver\'s license with a good, cleandriving record. CDL preferred. Knowledge of methods, materials, andequipment used in the construction and maintenance of undergroundoil/gas transmission systems. Fundamental understanding of safetyregulations, OSHA regulations, first aid and methods of applyingresuscitation. Knowledge of local and state regulations, rules,specifications, and operating practices. Ability to read and interpretplans and written instructions. Strong written and verbal communicationskills. Ability to work independently as well as in a team-orientedenvironment. Consistent travel required throughout United States.WORKING ENVIRONMENT Working outdoors in various weather conditions thatare not deemed unworkable (i.e. negative degree weather, etc.).
