Construction Project Supervisor

We are looking for an experienced Construction Engineer/Construction Project Supervisor to join our South Bend, IN office and oversee construction activities for diverse transportation and infrastructure projects across the Northern Indiana region.The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in field inspection, materials testing, and construction management, along with a deep understanding of industry standards and state and federal regulations. Lochmueller is a great place to build a career and grow with a company that is dedicated to quality and service.In this position, the candidate will:Serve as the resident project representative or project supervisor on small and large projects of varying complexityWork closely with contractors throughout all phases of construction and maintain strong working relationships with project owners, keeping them informed of significant issuesSupervise construction inspectors and other personnel assigned to the projectCoordinate and lead pre construction meetings, progress meetings, pre final inspections, and other required project meetingsInterpret plans, specifications, and construction methods for inspectors and contractorsOversee construction engineering layout work, measurements, and verification of planned elevationsSupervise sampling, testing, and inspection of materials to ensure compliance with specificationsManage all aspects of construction processes on assigned projectsRecommend revisions to plans, specifications, or special provisions based on field conditions or unforeseen circumstancesPrepare progress and final estimates, project accounting, records, receipts, change orders, and related reportsOversee utility relocation work to ensure compatibility with proposed plansPerform related surveying or design work as neededAssist with client management and proposal developmentParticipate in project meetings with clients, contractors, and other stakeholdersProvide mentorship and guidance to junior staffEnsure adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and ethical practices on construction sitesPerform other duties as assignedPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or a related field.
