The job of Cafe Assistant - Floater is done for the purpose of working, as assigned, in either a Nutrition Services Worker or a Cashier - Food Services position.Essential FunctionsStocks food, condiments and suppliesCleans utensils, equipment, storage and food serving areasPerforms cashier duties, including collecting payments and prepaymentsMaintains student charges, at a minimum, identifies students exceeding the charged allowance limits and alerts office staff of alternate meals served to studentsPrepares documentation (e.g. production sheets, daily reports, inventory logs, equipment order forms, etc.)Oversees the processing of student accounts and recognizes reimbursable meals for eligibility to participate in the National School Lunch programReconciles transactionsServes one or more items of foodMaintains confidentiality of student school lunch eligibilityParticipates in various activities (e.g. estimate/requistion food quantities, marketing activities, barbeques, picnics, etc.)Assists other personnel as may be requiredRequirements:Criminal justice fingerprint/background clearanceMust possess or be able to obtain a Food Handler Card within 30 days of hireAbility to read, write and communicate clearly in EnglishThis is a 10 month School Year position only.
