AboutFull-time positionLocation: Sacramento, CAThe RoleOur client is seeking a Field Installation Manager to support high-volume commercial door and gate service operations across the Greater Sacramento area. This is a hands-on, field-driven role focused on troubleshooting, estimating, scheduling, and supporting installation crews.This is a newly created position designed to alleviate workload from leadership and improve field efficiency. The ideal candidate brings strong service-based experience (not just new installs) and can confidently manage multiple jobs, crews, and customer needs in real time.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee daily field operations across 10-20 active service jobsTroubleshoot issues in the field and remotely support technicians by phoneRun service estimates and scope job requirementsCoordinate and schedule 1-2 person installation/service crewsSource parts, materials, and equipment needed for repairs and installsEnsure projects are completed on time, within scope, and to quality standardsCommunicate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to keep projects movingSupport compliance with safety and industry standards (ADA, fire code, etc.)Partner closely with leadership during a 6-month training periodRequired ExperienceStrong background in commercial door and gate service/installationExperience with a majority of the following systems:Automatic doors (SIG or similar)Storefront doorsHollow metal doorsSolid core/wood doorsOverhead doorsDock equipmentGates and gate operatorsProven ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues in the fieldExperience running estimates and coordinating service workComfortable managing multiple jobs and priorities in a fast-paced environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience across all listed door and gate systemsPrior leadership or crew supervision experienceKnowledge of compliance standards and safety regulationsStrong organizational and communication skillsWhat to ExpectPrimarily field-based role with high daily activity6-month training period working closely with internal leadershipHigh-impact position with the opportunity to help shape operationsOccasional after-hours phone support (limited weekend work)Additional DetailsOpen to candidates willing to relocate to the Sacramento areaStable, growing company with consistent project volumeFull benefits package includedMust have:Commercial door experience (hands-on)Must be in commercial-not residentialService / repair / troubleshooting experienceThis is criticalCandidates with only new installation experience are not a fitExperience with multiple door systemsIdeally 3-4+ of the following:Automatic doors (SIG or similar)Storefront doorsHollow metal doorsOverhead doorsGates / gate operatorsDock equipmentAbility to troubleshoot independentlyCan diagnose issues in the field or over the phoneNice to have:Previous Experience with one of these competitors: Vortex, Industrial Door Company, R&S DoorsExperience with ALL door types listedPrior leadership or crew management experienceManaging 1-2 man crews is a plusExperience with SIG automatic doors specificallyStrong estimating backgroundEspecially if they've owned quotes end-to-endExperience sourcing parts/vendors independentlyReduces training time significantlyKnowledge of complianceADA, fire-rated doors, safety standardsExperience in high-volume service environmentsHVAC, facilities, commercial service industries, etc.
