Senior Buyer

Position Summary:This Senior Buyer role is supporting both plant-level execution (Caro, MI) and corporate sourcing alignment. Responsible for purchasing activities for direct materials, including low-volume Aftermarket and High-Performance programs, while ensuring alignment with corporate sourcing strategies. The position acts as a key interface between plant operations, program teams, and corporate procurement, with a reporting line into corporate purchasing.Responsibilities of Position:Issue blanket purchase orders (POs) for direct materials in support of plant operations.Prior to issuing POs, collaboration and agreement with commodity managers is required to confirm approved sourcing strategies.Verify supplier invoices against pricing, quantities, and terms.Maintain and update pricing in ERP systems.Ensure accuracy and timelines of transactional purchasing activities.Act as liaison between Plant personnel (operations, production, finance), program teams, and corporate procurement.Shutdown response support.Manage engineering changes (ECNs) and supplier changes.Attend sales kickoff and program management meetings.Manage internal RFx processes.Ensure timing alignment across stakeholders.Maintain program data accuracy, traceability, and reporting.Communicate risks and opportunities to commodity managers.Manage program cancellations and extensions.Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced Tier I automotive environment.Complete additional assignments and special projects as needed.Skill Requirements:Strong negotiation skills with proven ability to influence outcomes and drive measurable results.Highly self-directed, with strong ownership, initiative, and ability to complete tasks independently.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of interacting effectively across all organizational levels.Ability to work collaboratively and maintain strong professional relationships with cross-functional teams.Ability to switch between plant urgency and corporate disciplineDemonstrated proficiency in managing multiple priorities and complex workloads.High proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel (advanced functions preferred).Familiarity with TS‑16949 or IATF 16949 quality systems.Experience in a fast‑paced Tier 1 automotive supplier environment strongly preferred.Education and Experience Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required.5 + years of progressive automotive direct materials purchasing experience.Interest or experience in working with global suppliers or supporting cross-regional activitiesWork Structure:Split time between Caro Plant (Caro, MI) and Corporate HQ (Auburn Hills, MI).Physical Requirements:Ability to work at a personal computer for extended periods of time.Ability to travel regionally as needed.EEO Statement: TI Automotive is committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, pregnancy status, disability, gender identity or Veteran status.
