CS-Director of Children Services
Description:
Summary
Direct and supervise all programs and maintain compliance in the Children’s Services Department.
Essential Duties
Oversee all programs and maintain compliance in the Children's Services Department, meeting regulations of all supervising agencies.
Oversee the supervision of all staff and volunteers.
Ensure staff are properly trained and quality training is ongoing for staff.
Develop and effectively implement annual department budget.
Ensure proper maintenance and cleaning of all Children's Services facilities with emphasis on meeting all health and safety regulations.
Explore different funding sources.
Develop annual department program plan that will enhance existing programs and expand current services to best meet the needs of children with disabilities.
Implement an ongoing evaluation of department staff.
Ensure efficient and effective clerical system is in place for department.
Keep supervisor abreast of department.
Assist in the negotiation of all needed contracts.
Ensure all required departmental reports are accurate, completed and submitted in timely manner.
Contribute to quality management system goals and objectives and maintain ISO standards in department.
Oversee the purchases of all equipment and supplies for the department, ensuring an efficient tracking system is in place.
Chair appropriate committees as directed within the agency and the community.
Be able to frequently lift up to 75 pounds independently and over 75 pounds with assistance.
All other duties as deemed necessary.

Requirements:
Qualifications:
Possess ability to maintain flexible schedule to meet the demands of the department.
Maintain good hygiene.
Possess excellent research and writing skills.
Possess the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Possess the ability to use tact and empathy when dealing with people of varied backgrounds.
Possess the ability to establish effective working relationships.
Possess the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Be proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office products (Computer literate).
Accept responsibility and demonstrate leadership.
Be able to multitask effectively in a sometimes fast paced environment.
Education and/or Experience:
Minimum of Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education or related field. Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the early childhood field.
Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:
CPR/First Aid
Ability to pass state required physical
Physical Demands:
The position requires staff to alternate from a sitting position to a standing position frequently. Repetitive motion required. Lifting, bending, twisting, and turning are required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level is usually moderate but occasionally loud. Use of Personal Protective Equipment such as vinyl or latex gloves is occasionally required.
