Education And CredentialsHSHigh School Diploma or GED required. AASAssociate of Applied Science Business or Health Care related required. ExperienceTwo (2) years of charge posting and abstracting experience, working knowledge of the authorization process and working with insurance companies preferably in a hospital outpatient environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy. Knowledge of ICD-9CM and CPT-4 coding. Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, and percentages accurately. Advanced skill in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Working knowledge of department required.
