Executive Chef | Luxury and Fine Dining

Job Description Position SummaryThe Executive Chef is responsible for overseeing all culinary operations across food and beverage outlets. This role leads kitchen operations, menu development, team performance, food quality, cost management, sanitation compliance, and guest satisfaction while ensuring a world-class luxury dining experience.The ideal candidate is a hands-on culinary leader with extensive luxury hospitality experience, strong operational discipline, and a passion for innovation, mentorship, and elevated guest experiences.Key ResponsibilitiesCulinary Leadership & OperationsDirect all day-to-day culinary operations across restaurants, private dining, banquets, and special eventsDevelop and execute innovative menus, seasonal offerings, and daily specials aligned with Aman's luxury hospitality standardsEnsure consistency, quality, presentation, and execution across all food outletsMonitor kitchen workflow, staffing levels, and operational efficiency to maintain exceptional service standardsCollaborate closely with restaurant leadership, events teams, and hotel operations to deliver seamless guest experiencesFinancial & Cost ManagementDevelop and manage departmental operating budgets in partnership with Food & Beverage leadershipControl labor costs, food costs, inventory levels, and kitchen expenses while maintaining premium quality standardsMinimize waste and optimize purchasing, storage, and production processesConduct monthly inventory and stock management reviewsTeam Leadership & DevelopmentRecruit, train, mentor, and develop culinary talent across all kitchen operationsFoster a positive, high-performance culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and professional growthConduct employee evaluations, coaching sessions, and performance reviewsLead regular culinary team meetings, training sessions, and operational briefingsMaintain strong communication and collaboration between front-of-house and kitchen teamsQuality, Safety & ComplianceEnsure compliance with all sanitation, hygiene, food safety, and workplace safety regulationsMaintain NYC Food Handler certification standards and ensure all culinary staff follow proper food handling proceduresOversee kitchen cleanliness, organization, equipment maintenance, and operational safetyEnforce luxury-level presentation, professionalism, and service standards at all timesQualifications5+ years of experience as an Executive Chef or Head Chef within a luxury hotel, fine dining restaurant, or upscale hospitality environmentCulinary Arts degree preferredStrong expertise in luxury culinary operations, with Italian and Japanese cuisine experience preferredProven leadership experience managing high-performing culinary teamsStrong understanding of budgeting, labor management, food cost control, and inventory systemsExcellent organizational, communication, and leadership skillsAbility to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure luxury hospitality environmentsProficiency with Microsoft Office and operational reporting toolsNYC Food Handler Certification requiredMultilingual abilities are a plusFlexible schedule availability, including weekends and holidaysWhat We're Looking ForPassion for luxury hospitality and culinary excellenceCreative, detail-oriented culinary leadershipStrong mentorship and team development mindsetOperational discipline with elevated execution standardsAbility to lead with professionalism, composure, and accountabilityCommitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences at every levelCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive Executive-Level Salary ($165,000 – $190,000)Performance Bonus OpportunitiesMedical, Dental & Vision InsuranceLife Insurance401(k) Retirement PlanPaid Time OffCommuter BenefitsDining DiscountsGrowth opportunities within a globally recognized luxury hospitality brandCompany DescriptionThe Restaurant Zone is a leading hospitality recruitment agency specializing in connecting top-tier talent with restaurants, hotels, and hospitality groups across the United States.
