Ready Mix Driver
As a ready mix truck driver with Gonzalez Brothers Ready Mix, you will operate a heavy diesel truck (Gross Vehicle Weight over 26,000 pounds) equipped with auxiliary concrete mixer, consisting of a revolving drum to mix the concrete components during transport to construction sites. You will be responsible for maintaining the materials in a liquid state through agitation or turning of the drum, until delivery at its destination. Once on site, you will maneuver the truck appropriately to feed the concrete mixture to designated areas with a gravity fed chute on the back center of the truck.
Duties
· Maneuver truck into loading position for filling (hopper at plant) and unloading positions at customer job sites.
· Adhere to all company, DOT and OSHA rules and regulations at all times
· Slump as requested by customers at job sites.
· Assemble chutes and operate levers to release concrete per customer request.
· Clean truck after loading and after each delivery to prevent concrete from hardening in mixer and on truck surfaces.
· Complete pre and post trip inspections on truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights brakes, fuel, oil, and water
· Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or coolant and performing minor repairs.
· Fill out delivery paperwork, collect payment from customers when required and keep records of daily activities.
· Operate equipment, such as truck mixer controls, two-way radios, and global positioning systems (GPS) equipment to exchange necessary information with dispatch, supervisors, or other drivers.
Work Environment
Requires working in hot and cold temperatures.
Requires walking on uneven, muddy, and slippery surfaces.
Exposure to sounds and noise levels that may be distracting and/or uncomfortable.
Exposure to diesel exhaust, dust, and water mist or vapor.
Variable lighting conditions, dependent upon available natural light.
Essential Job Functions
Lift and carry chutes weighing 50 pounds (approx) from hanger on side of truck to mixer discharge chute.
Manually open truck hood, requiring up to 75 pounds pushing force at a height of approximately 14 inches.
Climb truck ladder up to 9 feet to clean hopper.
Operate hand tools and hose nozzle with hands raised above shoulder height.
Extended periods of sitting while driving to/from job sites with constant vibration and motion.

Job Qualifications
Two years of an established Class A/B commercial driver license preferred.
Be at least 23 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Previous concrete-related experience preferred.
Basic math skills required.
Ability to read and interpret mixer truck gauges.
Ability to take guidance and direction from a supervisor/manager.
